KMTC Application Forms guidelines

  1. KMTC Application forms can be obtained from the KMTC website (www.kmtc.ac.ke), KMTC face book page or the nearest KMTC campus.
  2. Candidates must submit duly filled KMTC application forms (KMTC/QP-01/CAF).
  3. Candidates are advised to attach legible Photostat copies of academic certificates/results slip, school leaving certificate and national identity card/birth certificate.
  4. Applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable fee of KShs.2,000 OR US$ 50 for non-Kenyans in the form of Banker’s Cheque or National bank deposit slip at Hospital Branch Nairobi Account Number 01003058521700 payable to the Director, KMTC. Cash money is strictly NOT acceptable. (One should send an original banking slip and NOT the photocopy).
  5. Applicants can also pay the application fee via M-Pesa – by going to M-Pesa, select Pay bill, enter business number as 964150, enter account number as your ID number, enter amount as Ksh.2022, sh.22 being transaction fee). Send and wait for confirmation message, and enter the confirmation code in the application form in the space provided in section E).
  6. Application fee does not guarantee admission.
  7. Candidates should provide reliable and permanent mailing address with postal codes for any future contact.
  8. Applications should be sent so as to reach the Director on or before 15th June 2016.
  9. Duly completed applications forms may be hand delivered to the KMTC headquarter offices in Nairobi.

Creating a KMTC Online Application Account

Requirements for creating a new account

  1. You must have a valid email address
  2. Log to KMTC website www.kmtc.ac.ke
  3. On the menu, click on the PORTAL menu item, the last item on the right side
  4. You will land on the online registration portal http://kmtc.ac.ke/portal
  5. If you have registered an account, log in using your email and password
  6. If you don’t have an account, click on the (Have no account? Register) below the log in form.
  7. This will land you to creating account form
  8. Enter your valid email and password
  9. Click on Create Account Button
  10. An email will be sent to your email address with a link to verify your account.
  11. Open your email and Click on the email link
  12. You will be redirected to KMTC portal.
  13. Fill in your personal information on the account creation form provided
  14. Click on the register button
  15. You will be provide you with a form to confirm your data
  16. Check information accuracy
  17. Click save changes.

KMTC Online Application Process

    1. On the left side bar, click on the applications
    2. From the drop down menu, click apply
    3. You will be directed to option 1 course selection
    4. Select the Option 1 course level (Diploma or Certificate)
    5. Click Search
    6. A form will appear within the page
    7. Select your desire course
    8. Fill in the form details as guided by the from labels
    9. Make sure that all fields are filled
    10. Click on submit application
    11. You will be redirected to Option 2 Form
    12. Select the course level (Diploma or Certificate)
    13. Click Search
    14. A form will appear within the page
    15. Select your desired option 2 course
    16. Fill in the form details as guided by the from labels
    17. Make sure that all fields are filled
    18. Click on submit application
    19. You will be redirected to Upload KCSE certificate page.
    20. Select the KCSE certificate / result slip soft-copy file
    21. Click upload
    22. You will be redirected to Upload leaving certificate page.
    23. Select the leaving certificate soft-copy file
    24. Click upload
    25. You will be redirected to Upload National ID/ Birth Certificate/ Passport page.
    26. Select the leaving National ID/ Birth Certificate/ Passport soft-copy file on the front side
    27. Select the leaving National ID/ Birth Certificate/ Passport soft-copy file on the back side
    28. Click upload
    29. You will be redirected to confirm courses page
    30. Make sure the courses listed reflects your selected courses
    31. If you wish to change the course click on reject button
    32. You will be redirected to application page again
    33. Once satisfied click confirm and you will be redirected to make a payment of Ksh. 2,022 to
      MPESA paybill number 964150 (Confirm that the payment is paid to Kenya Medical Training
      College)
    34. Click on confirm button
    35. If you get a message with a message (“Please pay Ksh. 2022 to paybill number 964150 To
      Confirm the Courses”), Please wait for up to ten minutes and refresh the page.
    36. A confirmation SMS will be sent to your phone number.(Added as phone number 1 during
      entering of personal information)

KMTC Courses – Kenya Medical Training College Courses Background

Situated about three kilometers on the northern side of Nairobi city, Kenya, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) headquarters and the main campus, Nairobi, stand on a 20-acre piece of land, opposite Kenyatta National Hospital, along Old Mbagathi Road.

With over 22,000 students attending more than 50 medical courses, KMTC makes the biggest single contribution to the health sector in Kenya and is currently producing more than 6000 graduates every year for both the Kenyan public and private health sectors, accounting for more than 80 percent of the hospitals’ workforce.

KMTC boasts of a highly qualified and experienced teaching and administrative staff. It has a strength of over 1,600 members of staff.

The national distribution of the KMTC College is its biggest uniqueness. With 36 constituent colleges spread throughout the country as far as Lodwar and Garissa, Loitoktok and Kisumu, the impact of the College in improving healthcare is felt in all parts of the country.

Today, you are sure to find KMTC in every corner of this country, strategically located next to a provincial or district hospitals where students go for clinical attachment.

KMTC, the only public middle level health training institution under the Ministry of Health, started in 1927 with four students at Kenya Institute of Administration (KIA), Kabete.

Today KMTC has grown tremendously, curving a niche for itself as one of the largest medical training institution in East and Central Africa and even beyond- drawing students from Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Sudan and Nigeria.

This unprecedented growth from humble beginnings to the complex college it is today is attributable to the unwavering support of the government, hard work by the dedicated staff, students’ diligence and sound management.

KMTC Intake – Kenya Medical Training College Intake and Admissions

Selection and placement of government sponsored (regular) programs to Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) is done by KMTC.

Once the application process has been closed, the successful applicants will receive communication in due time.

Admission into the self sponsored category, whose intake will be March every year, will commence after completion of government-sponsored intake in September. An advertisement will be placed in the local dailies in October. Admission to the self-sponsored vacancies will be open to all qualified students, regardless of the year they sat for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

Candidates are advised to attach legible Photostat copies of academic certificates; school leaving certificate and national identity card/birth certificate.

Kenya Medical Training College Fee Structure

There are three fee categories namely:

      1. Regular
      2. Parallel/In-service
      3. Foreign (as detailed in the Current fees structure)

KMTC Fee structure is subject to changes from time to time

Students are advised to pay fees on annual basis to avoid interruption of training

Upon dismissal, fees are not refundable.

NB: Students are advised to make financial arrangements to cover expenses related to Practical attachment; Research etc. details are available from respective faculties upon reporting

KMTC Fee Structure – Stationary

All stationary is the responsibility of the student.
Students are encouraged to buy their own textbooks, and specific course book lists are usually provided as an admission package to assist in purchasing books.

All special medical equipment in each course i.e. Stethoscopes etc are the responsibility of the student
