In line with the Registration of Persons Act CAP 107, Laws of Kenya, an Act of Parliament to make provision for the registration of persons and for the issue of identity cards.

Types of Registration

There are four (4) types of categories of registration as listed below:-

2. Replacement Registration

Categories of Forms that are completed:-

1. Reg. 136A: Filled by persons Not Previously Registered
2. Reg. 136C: Filled by all applicants for the various registrations.
3. RIS I: Replacement Information Sheet is filled by persons applying for the Replacement Registration.
4. Reg. 101:

A buyer of a second hand motor vehicle is expected to apply for transfer of change of ownership to their name within 14 days of purchase

Following are the requirements for transfer of ownership of motor vehicles and trailers:

• A duly filled and signed transfer from “C” obtained from the Road Transport offices in Times Tower, Nairobi, Customs House, Mombasa or the District Commissioners office.
  The logbook: one is expected to fill up the first vacant ‘change’ giving his/her full name, address and signature.
• Copies of National Identity card or passport of both buyer and seller or a Certificate of Business Registration in the case of corporate bodies.
• Valid insurance cover.
• Both purchase tax and transfer fee in accordance with the engine capacity rating of the vehicle.
• Pin cards of both seller and buyer.

The above mentioned documents should be lodged at the Road Transport Offices at Times Tower, Nairobi and Customs House, Mombasa or at any District Commissioners Offices.

How can I obtain financing in Kenya?
Financing for purchase of a property can be obtained from Banks, Building Societies or Mortgage

Persons who qualify for this service

• Parents/guardians of a newly born baby
• Rescue centers taking charge of newly born abandoned babies

Requirements for Notification of a current birth

• Name of the newly born baby (optional)
• Date and place of birth
• Sex of the child
• Type of birth (single/multiple)
• Nature of birth (alive/dead)
• Name, age and marital status, previous births to, residential area and district of mother
• Name of father (for married couples)
• Signature of the applicant
• Register of birth form B1 duly completed or Register of birth form A1 and notification of birth form all duly completed

Information can be provided to KACC in writing, by telephone or by presenting it personally to the Commission’s Report Centre at Integrity Centre in Nairobi and Mombasa office at Apollo Court – Moi Avenue. The Commission’s contact details are listed below.
