Update 1:
Education minister Mutula Kilonzo is releasing the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results in Nairobi.
A total of 437,000 candidates sat the examinations last year and are anxiously waiting for the announcement.
In 2011, 411,783 students sat the tests in which boys have consistently dominated the top positions.
Out of the top 10 positions nationally, boys took seven while girls managed only three.
Nalianya K. Job, then of St Peter’s Seminary in Eldoret, emerged the best student, followed by Gikonyo Victor Gitau and Odhiambo Emmanuel, both from Alliance High School.
The top girl was Lonyangapuo Chelagat, formerly of Alliance Girls High School.
Update:
The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination will be released on today Friday 1st March 2013 at around 10 am.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) secretary Paul Wasanga said Tuesday the results will be released by Education minister Mutula Kilonzo at Mitihani House, Nairobi starting at 10am
