Busia is a town in western Kenya. It is the largest town in Busia District, Kenya and the district headquarters are located there. Busia is approximately 268 miles (431 km), by road, west of Nairobi, Kenya’s capital and largest city. This location is immediately east of Busia, Uganda, across the International border that divides the two cities.

The towns of Busia, Kenya’ and Busia, Uganda are very busy border towns on Kenya’s common border with Uganda. The towns of Malaba, Kenya and Malaba, Uganda, approximately 33 kilometres (21 mi) to the north, along with the Busia megalopolis account for the bulk of trade and human traffic between the two East African Community countries.
