Webuye

Webuye is an Industrial town in Western part of Kenya. The predominant tribe is the Bukusu tribe, one of the 42 tribes in Kenya.

Webuye town houses the Pan paper the biggest Paper mill in Kenya as well as a number of heavy-chemical and sugar manufacturers. It is also a great tourist attraction where tourists visit the paper mills, especially the School Children.

The town is sitated a long Eldoret Malaba Uganda Road. It has exellent tropical climate.Villages near Webuye include Lugulu and Misikhu.

Webuye is home to Broderick Falls of the river Nzoia.The town is located on the main railway from Mombasa to Uganda.

Webuye is home to the tachoni tribe. Since time imemorial the Bukusu subtribe were only welcome during the war of chetambe . Bukusus were running away from the white after being defeated during the warof lumboka .

The town has an urban population of 19,600 (1999 census [1])
