Railway Freight Services in Kenya constitutes 80 per cent of railway operations and makes up 25 per cent of freight transport in the country.

About 75 per cent of railway freight business is Kenyan, while the rest is transit. The decline in the use of rail transport is attributed to low quality services, low speed and inadequate integration with other modes of transport.
