The Obama campaign has released the full 17-minute documentary-style video about the president’s first three years in office.
The Road We’ve Traveled follows the tough decisions President Obama made to bring America back from the brink and fight for the security of the middle class, from reining in Wall Street to ending the war in Iraq, reforming health care, and getting millions of Americans back to work.
Directed by Academy Award-winning director Davis Guggenheim, “The Road We’ve Traveled” uses interviews with current and former administration aides and former president Bill Clinton to detail what the White House sees as President Obama’s top achievements. Those include rescuing the auto industry from collapse, passing health care reform, ending the Iraq war and overseeing the killing of Osama bin Laden.
The campaign is unveiling the film, which is narrated by actor Tom Hanks, at 300 watch parties with supporters across the country.
“Time after time we would see rewards for decisions he had made,” Hanks says. “So when we consider this president then and now, let’s remember how far we’ve come and look forward to the work still to be done.”
