Peter Mensah’s Biography

Peter Mensah is a Ghanaian-British actor born on the 27th August 1959. He is best known for his roles in the Tears of the Sun, Hidalgo,300 and Dead Space. Peter Mensah was born at Chiraa, Ghana into an academic family which originated from Brong Ahafo Region in Ghana.Later in life he moved to Hertfordshire, England , with his father ,an engineer, his Mother a writer and two younger sisters at  a young age. Peter began practicing martial arts at the age of six.

As he grew up in St. Albans, he studied martial arts but developed a love of performing. He used to be an engineer, working for British Gas. Soon, he decided move to Canada and establish his career in the entertainment industry. Having done theatre productions in school, he decided to become an actor.

Peter Mensah started out as Hugh in 1998’s The Long Island Incident, before earning roles on The Golden Spiders: A Nero Wolfe Mystery, Harvard Man, Jason X, Conviction, Cypher and Tears of the Sun. In 2004, he was seen on Hidalgo and two years later on the epic film adapted from the Frank Miller graphic novel, 300. His next big-screen endeavors included The Seed (2006), The Incredible Hulk (2008), and James Cameron’s Avatar (2009).

Mensah has also been seen on television, making appearances on shows like La Femme Nikita, F/X: The Series, Earth: Final Conflict and Relic Hunter. He played Arthur in three episodes of A Nero Wolfe Mystery and was even known as Daniel Greaves on Star Trek:Enterprise. In 2008, he was cast as General Perry on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and two years later booked the role of Doctore on Starz Network’s Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
