Jannat House Lamu Kenya
Jannat House is formed of 3 interlinking houses set around a central garden and swimming pool. ln traditional Arabic architecture, this attractive building has been recognised by the museum which has prohibited alteration.The house is on multiple levels, a quirky collection of staircases, terraces and gardens.
There are 16 rooms, 10 en-suite and 6 with shared bathrooms. The rooms have Lamu 4-poster bed, Lamu table, chair, fan and mosquito net. The budget rooms sleep between 2 and 6 pax. The restaurant has a wide international menu, including seafood such as poached ﬁsh fillet, calamari tempura and ginger crab, as well as salads, pizzas, pasta, curries and soups. There is a grill that serves dishes like charcoal grilled lobster, barbecued beef or seafood kebab, a coffee bar and a fully stocked bar. The house has WiFi throughout and the terraces have plugs for laptops.
The Jannat House dhow holds up to 20 pax. It is fully equipped for cooking, camping, fishing and relaxation. Other activities include snorkelling at Manda Toto, diving with giant turtles in Kiungu Marine National Reserve, watching crocodiles and hippos on Tana River, tracking elephants around Mpeketoni and deep sea ﬁshing for marlins. Jannat House grows its nwri coconut, guava and cashew nuts, and composts its food waste.

There are several spacious terraces, some overlooking the pool. Cuisine in the restaurant is influenced by the Swahili flavour, characterized by coconut milk and Arabic spices. The restaurant maintains a smart-casual dress code for dinner. A’la Carte and barbeque dinners are common.
