“Today I was joined by my lovely wife Lady Primrose, my friend/running mate 2032/ FP (God willing after the DP and myself) Mo, in celebrating my birthday in style by staying indoors at my Mua Family Farm,” Sonko said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
“A day like this my Dad used to celebrate my birthday with me by taking a bottle of Johny Walker since he had left his stock in the cabinet I decided to celebrate it with him.”
Sonko said this was the first birthday he was celebrating after the death of his father Gideon Kivanguli in September, which prompted the senator to put an end to confrontational politics in his honor.
“I am thanking God for the life of my late dad. Were it not for him, my late Mum and God, I could not have reached where I am today,” Sonko said.

“Some good things are happening in our life as a family and we look up the heavens and smile, I know it’s you Dad. Thank you
for the good counsel. Rest in peace Dad, I miss you dearly.”
The senator who is also a Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful recounted how his dad handled his wit, citing an incident where he altered his birth certificate because he was too young to be issued an ID.
“All students who had attained the age of 18 years were supposed to show a copy of the birth certificate or notification of birth document from any hospital,” he said.
“I had to forge mine with white-out and backdated it by 3 years so that I could also be issued with an ID instantly, just like the rest of my classmates.”
Sonko said though his father was very upset when he detected it, “he forgave me and never lost hope in me even after doing all these reckless things.”
“The mistake of yesterday will not determine the success of tomorrow,” Sonko said.
Muhoho Kenyatta Planning TV Debut
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s son could be hinting at a big TV project judging from the recent group of celebrities he received at State House, Nairobi.
Muhoho Kenyatta also met popular British actress Elizabeth Hurley, who plays Queen Helena in The Royals TV series, although details of their meeting remain scanty.
Sources indicate that Muhoho is planning a television debut but his role is under wraps. It is not clear whether he will be in front of the camera or behind the scenes.
On Thursday, Muhoho played host to a number of TV personalities and entertainers including Abel Mutua, Willy Paul, Philip Karanja, NTV’s Tracy Wanjiru, DJ Euphorique, Aisha Noor aka Truphena of Real Househelps of Kawangware among others.
According to Willy Paul, the State House meeting was convened to exchange ideas.
The outgoing son has often been captured on camera accompanying his father to presidential functions, raising speculations that he could be warming up to elective leadership in future.
Apparently, Muhoho has also been very supportive of his mother; Margaret Kenyatta’s charitable causes, as was witnessed on Saturday when the two went jogging at the Ngong Hills perhaps in preparation for the next First Lady’s Marathon.
Muhoho Kenyatta New Fashion Line
Mo, as he is popularly known to his friends, is the co-founder of the Nomadic brand and first designed a pair of trousers from khanga material two years ago.
Two years after his first prototype of the khanga trouser – which he self modeled – Mo, who has a deep passion for the local material, says he believes his designs will continue to be well received.
At their first exhibition last month, he says, they sold 100 khanga trousers in a day at the price of Sh2,000 each.
“Apart from the pants, I’ve also gone into harems and shorts,” says the shy and unassuming Mo. At this week’s fashion show, organized by Sonu and Sanjeev Sharma of Just Like That, Nomadic will showcase its full range of designs including trousers, harems, and shorts.
Mo has personally designed all 10 Nomadic outfits to be worn by models this evening but is reluctant to reveal the details, fearing that doing so might eclipse tonight’s red carpet moment.
“You can go to a club rocking Nomadic and you’ll still look fine.” It may probably not be long before Mo’s parents, Uhuru and Margaret Kenyatta wear Nomadic to a public event.
While the brand’s designs are unisex, Mo, who says he is determined to make a mark in the business world, adds that he would like to explore khanga dresses for women.
Muhoho Kenyatta groomed for Presidency?
Is President Uhuru Kenyatta grooming his sons to take over the mantle of political leadership and with it, the continued grip of the Kenyatta’s on national politics? His opponent, Nasa flag bearer Raila Odinga had daughter Rosemary being groomed to take over his former Lang’ata Parliamentary seat, but unfortunately got indisposed before the April nominations.
His son, Fidel Odinga, who had been tipped to inherit his political kingdom, sadly died in 2015.
Raila’s running mate, Kalonzo Musyoka had to battle political headwinds after attempts at having his son Kennedy Musyoka nominated to the lucrative East African Legislative Assembly.
Uhuru’s running mate and Deputy President William Ruto, on the other hand, has been parading his son, Nick Ruto, during political rallies in which he was called to “Greet wananchi” which in Kenyan political parlance is understood to mean “Watch out for this heir.” But it was the use of Uhuru Kenyatta’s second-born son, Muhoho, recently which got political observers reassessing afresh the trend of dangling scions of political families at public rallies, triggering a fierce debate whether Kenyans are watching the grooming of the next generation of successors from long-serving political dynasties even before Kenyans return to the ballot for another round of presidential re-run.
Latter-day Johnny-come-lately, Ruto, and Musyoka, not quite oozing the class pedigree that comes with old money, are angling to create their own political dynasties through their sons, and new money.
Political observers intimated to The Nairobian that what Kenyans are observing is ‘political socialization’ where the voting public gets used to these sons being in the public limelight such that when an official government appointment comes calling, the public hardly gets surprised.
The latest show that set the social media alight is the introduction of baby-faced Muhoho Kenyatta at a high profile political rally in Nandi by Deputy President, William Ruto last Sunday.
