Ngara Girls High School – Details
Ngara Girls High School is a girls public boarding secondary school, located in Ngara location, Nairobi County.
The school started in January 1957 as a mixed secondary school for Indian-Kenyan students which served Nairobi neighborhoods of Ngara and Parklands. In 1962, male students were transferred out, making the schoolgirls’ only. The school opened to students of all races after 1964, when racial segregation in schooling ended.
Ngara Girls has a total of one thousand students. Each form (or grade) has five streams (or group of girls) with around 50 students in each stream. We have six of our girls in this school. Four girls are in Form Three and two girls are in Form One. The school located in Nairobi’s Ngara area which is a close-in suburb.
The school is well maintained with a very clean compound and a conducive environment for students to study. The school performs very well academically and is ranked among the best national schools in the country. National schools are the top level of the government-assisted schools in Kenya. We are very pleased to have so many girls attending this national school.
