Trident Insurance Company Limited was established in 1979 and is incorporated in Kenya and licensed to transact General Insurance business. It was licensed and began full operations in the year 1982. It has a team of highly qualified, experienced and dynamic staffs who render personalized efficient and professional insurance services.
During the Trident Insurance Company Limited history, Trident has been majority-controlled by well respected Barbadian conglomerates such as the former Plantations Trading Company Limited. From 1993 to 1997, the Barbados Mutual Life Assurance Company (The Mutual), now known as Sagicor, was the majority shareholder in Trident.
In 1997, the Mutual’s interest in Trident Insurance Company Limited was purchased by a group of local investors led by the Leacock Group. In early 2007, the Leacock Group partnered with GraceKennedy of Jamaica (GKCO) and launched a successful bid to purchase the equity holdings of Cooper Gay and Co, London, UK, the remaining single largest shareholder in Trident, with the Virgos Group as the third partner. This transaction resulted in the Leacock Group acquiring controlling interest of the company.

To properly protect yourself from the always present danger of huge awards for motor liability, it is imperative that you maintain the proper level of coverage for your particular situation. The writing of a motor insurance policy can be a complex task. At Trident, we represent a variety of carriers who provide excellent coverage and customer service at competitive rates.
Personal Accident cover provides benefits for death, and/or bodily injury caused by violet, external and visible means. Medical and surgical expenses necessarily incurred and expended as a result of an accident are also covered up to a specified limit.
This is a golf insurance policy for the individual golfer. We have many thousands of customers insured under the policy and it provides “New and Old” cover for golf equipment and personal effect with an extraordinary low excess.
♦ Death: This covers one in the event of accidental death. The sum insured paid in full.
♦ Permanent Total Disability: This means complete and irrecoverable loss of use normal body functions. The sum insured paid in full
♦ Temporary Total Disability: The insurer will pay a cash benefit until recovery, calculated weekly up to a maximum of 104 weeks
♦ Medical Expenses: Funeral expenses following death and can be either Ksh.30,000 or Ksh.50,000 per person.

When a structure is covered by fire insurance, the insurance policy will payout in the event that the structure is damaged or destroyed by fire.

Contractors All Risks
Contractors are often required by the terms of their contracts to have a Contractors All Risk insurance policy. This is a cover that indemnifies the insured should they suffer any unforeseen and sudden physical loss or damage from any cause, other than those specifically excluded, in a manner necessitating repair or replacement.
Money Insurance provides covers under the loss of money in transit, by the insured or the insured’s authorized employee (s), occasioned by robbery, theft or any other fortuitous cause, or loss of money in safe, defined above, by burglary, housebreaking, robbery or hold-up.
Group Personal Accident
Group Personal Accident covers the insured in the event that he/she sustains bodily injury caused solely and directly by accidental, violent, external.
WIBA coverage applies to bodily injury and diseases arising out of and in the course of employment. Any bodily injury must be accidental, and the term includes death resulting from the accident. Only occupational diseases, which are unique to the occupation, are covered. WIBA Compensation provides for the payment of four types of benefits:
Machinery Breakdown insurance is accident insurance for machinery, which provides cover against unforeseen and sudden physical loss or damage to the insured machinery.
Public Liability cover is designed to compensate an insured in respect to claims from members of the public who may suffer losses due to negligence of the insured or that of his/her employees. The policy cover’s damage as well as the costs of claims for injury or damage to property.
Professional Indemnity cover is to indemnify the insured and his employees against any claims arising out of any neglect, omission or error committed in the conduct of his professional duty.
This gives coverage for loss of profits, revenue, rental, standing charges, wages or salaries on payroll basis and increases in the cost of working due to business interruption as a result of five and/or our extended perils such as lightning and explosion.
Fidelity Guarantee cover offers protection to the insured for loss suffered as a result of forgery, embezzlement, larceny or fraudulent conversion by employee (s) in the course of employment. The cover will not relieve the individual employee who commits default of the primary responsibility for payment.
